Australia / Rainy Cairns

CAIRNS-
When in Cairns, I found myself amongst the rain but a few days spent in the rainy season isn't bad. It's fact that when the rain goes, the fruit follows and here the glorious greenery thrived after the repeated showers that poured on our touristy backs.

So when faced with the rain, where do you go? I'm pretty glad we managed to find the these incredibly, beautiful waterfalls it was probably one of my favourite days. I'll always have fond memories of us running down to each one in our swim wear (to apparently look as English as we could! Or not get our clothes wet, I'll let you decide). Australia - Uluru / Ayers Rock

In the middle of the desert, within outback Australia. Stands the magnificent, Uluru/Ayers Rock.

It's classed as one of the seven wonders of the world but what's all the fuss about? Uluru has a great cultural significance, and is considered a spiritual, sacred place by the aborigines. The natural landmark is mainly known for it's sheer size, as one of the largest rocks in the world.

- Up close and personal. Being able to walk around the base of the rock, is pretty impressive. The sandstone formation really is rather fantastic.

The size of Uluru is:

1,142 feet high — equivalent to a 95-story building
2,830 feet above sea level
2.2 miles long
1.2 miles wide
5.8 miles around the base

After a beautiful sunset the stars came out to play, and they were truly incredible. If you want to journey with me, my next few posts will be travel orientated, showing the other places we ventured. Emily x

Banksy vs Blanksy

Finding myself back in Bristol after the joyful independence, Southampton was so generous in providing me with. I've found myself, (dare I say it) comparing the two.

Although on paper, Bristol may seem like the bees knees, I think Southampton may have more to offer than first meets the eye....

So I put my hands up and admit, I've always been the first to announce, Southampton's lack of aesthetically pleasing architecture. It's absence of individual coffee shops and boutiques, which Bristol seems to house in abundance.

However 3 years served me well and if there's something I've learnt in the last couple of weeks, it's that the absence of good friends and liberal independence, can easily make a city strikingly more bland. Even if the architecture is top notch!

So I've decided to share with you, a few of my favourite nooks and crannies, from the 'famous' Southampton.

Somewhere Elsewhere

I guess i'm somewhat lacking in inspiration, motivation and well lets face it, having a serious photographers block, i'm not too sure what they're technically called, or if they're even a thing!

But in attempt to get myself out of this; i've been looking through some old photo's, and this wood looked pretty idyllic. So I ask you to perhaps join me in this place, somewhere elsewhere, or if you'd be so kind, to help me out of this photographers block...

Valentines Day: Lands End

Faithful readers, I wish you all a very happy Valentines day.

I guess a part of me is sorry I haven't presented you with a 'pretty' cliched image, but then the other part isn't. After all maybe this is a more realistic representation. So which ever path you take, I bid you a happy one, may it be with the right one.
