No. 14
In the process of trying out different environments for one of my modules; 'Methods and Approaches' I went down to the train station for a shoot last week. It hasn't worked out how I wanted it to really but thought I would share it with you anyway... x

Winter Walks
Taking you back to the blustery days of December? I'm off to the big smoke tonight; just a heads up that I can't promise a post tomorrow, depending on the internet access available.... So a fond farewell for now and fingers crossed I'll see you tomorrow. x

Work in progress
Here is just a snippet from my current work, one of my modules; 'Domestic and Public Spaces'. Being a lover of Charity shops myself is what prompted this idea, I'm focusing on how the commercial space is made domesticated. Personally I like the idea of these little bits of treasure finding a new life! Found any bargains yourself recently? x

In between dreams
During the first days of spring last year I found a place within the park that I usually passed by on a daily bases. Finding something beautiful within the ordinary stuck with me. I hope I'm not the only one in saying; that often I find my self in places within my imagination that I'd rather be... Probing with the notion of leaving a trace of you in one place and going to explore another I captured this. x

'We've become a race of peeping Tom's'
Surveillance is key, even when just wondering the streets of London, or maybe that’s just where you need it most! As someone who would consider Walker Evans as a main influence, I guess being interested in 'Street Photography'- if I may call it that, doesn't come as a surprise. But when I visited the 'Exposed Voyeurism, Surveillance and the Camera' Exhibition held by the Tate Modern, not too long ago. I think its safe to say that I was greatly inspired.
Keep a look out; you never know what you might find... x

A privileged view
As a photographer you find yourself in situations that you may take for granted but when I captured this moment I felt privileged. When initially focusing on the banal of the everyday I found myself drawn to something deeper when I captured this. Correct me if I'm wrong but to me it's a glimpse into the intimate relationship they share, look a little closer... What's at the centre? x

Happy accident
The anticipation from shooting a film is one of the things I love, so when using my little Bronica ETRS for the first time naturally I was excited... In the process of working out all its little charms I had wound the film on wrong, resulting in multiple exposures.
However despite the accident I think this might be a keeper. I'm pretty sure there's about four images in this one frame! Please excuse the white line - one of the cons of the stuck film.... x

All good things come to an end....
I'm sorry to say that our first exhibition hanging has now come to an end. 'Student Choice: A Solent View' was an exhibition by all of us 2nd year photography students at solent, hosted by the Southampton City art gallery.
Using my favourite - the trusty old medium format camera and being heavily influenced by the Pre-Raphaelite's and their sense of the true romance, I created a narrative piece as my response to Edward Coley Burne-Jones's work . Anyway interpret it how you wish and 'Happy Pancake Day!'
