But if you capture me I'll be within your sight.'

Polaroid back on a 35mm Nikon SLR
I was fortunate enough to get given this beauty of a camera: A Polaroid back which has been fitted onto a 35mm Nikon SLR, and surprisingly enough, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
It produces a polaroid; the classic 600 size with the photograph the size of a 35mm negative. Originally these cameras were used as test shots, to double check exposure and composition on a shoot. Well naturally I found this exciting and just thought I'd share it with you. What's your most recent polaroid extravaganza?! x

Disposed-of
I'm not entirely sure what compelled me to go back to this scene, I haphazardly came across. Maybe I thought it was a perfect example of the disposable culture we live in; surrounded by it, yet completely ignorant of it until it's right in-front of us. Or maybe I just thought it was an ideal set for an image....

Capturing moments
Admittedly these are just snapshots (using my compact; the only camera I had at hand.) But I think it reveals my core creative influences as a photographer.... As someone who is inspired by the narrative dimension that photography can be so rich in. I am fascinated by the idea of capturing a moment in time; allowing the viewer to read into it as they wish.
A handful of Photographers/Artists who inspire me to create tableau photography:
- Hannah Starkey
- Edward Hopper
- Frances Kearney
- Gregory Crewdson
- Tim Walker
I'm sure this wont be the last you hear of them! Love E x

PRAGUE
KRAKOW - PRAGUE
Wondering through Prague I found....
A lack of a wide angle lens meant I had to find more creative ways of fitting in the buildings!

Silent film: THE CAMERAMAN
Reading about the old myth of the camera being a 'magic box' that insures the perfect results; this silent movie toys with the notion, providing some amusement along the way....
Here Buster Keaton helplessly struggles with his tripod and equipment knocking out windows and doors, never managing to take a decent picture.... Until he gets some footage of the Tong war; by accident because his pet monkey winds the film on for him.
Clip 2/7
And here's the end clip just so you know what I'm on about!
Clip 7/7
I hope it amused you. E x

POLAND
BERLIN - WARSAW - GYDNIA - WARSAW - KRAKOW
As you can see we did quite the tour around poland; mainly because of a planned festival: Open'er, but also so that we could explore. Here are a few snaps from Warsaw. Despite the bad weather, we didn't manage to escape from, I've found a few to share with you. Enjoy.

Dolls in window
Focusing on the items in the charity shop having a connection with the public space, I photographed this. It's one of my final images that I handed in today so thats a relief! My finals are hand printed and shot on my little Bronica - Obviously! x

Favourite print of the week:
This is one, out of four, of my final images. But not so secretly it's my favourite! I think it captures the reason I first fell in love with these thrifty shops.... I'll upload the rest from my series soon so keep a keen eye out.

I apologise my lateness in wishing you all a 'Happy Easter'. I hope that you had a tremendous weekend despite my lack of posting. I'm going to continue with my blog even though lent is officially over, I'll try and post as often as I can and photograph as well as I can! I hope you enjoy the next few, no doubt they'll be from my easter films my Bonica assisted me in. x
Well here's to all that have supported me through my blogging these last few weeks....
Much love Emily x
